Mobile Deposit Errors

Mars Bank Mobile Deposit Check Errors

Mobile deposit is a great feature of the Mars BankMobile App. Unfortunately, with any technology things can go wrong. Here are common errors, and how to correct them:

  • Endorsement – the endorsement signature is missing or incorrect.
    • Be sure the name or names on the front of the check match the signatures in the endorsement area.
    • Be sure to write “For Mobile Deposit” in the endorsement area.
  • Check is not made payable to the person depositing or payable to more than one person and not all endorsements were signed (example: check to Jane Doe and John Doe, but only one endorsement).
    • A check cannot be deposited unless written to the account holder.
    • Be sure all endorsement signatures are included.
    • Be sure to write “For Mobile Deposit” in the endorsement area.
  • The check is a Cashier Check or Money Order – these items cannot be deposited using the app.
  • The check is written to a business name – the Mars Bank Mobile app is for use with personal accounts only.
  • Image is either incomplete or illegible.
    • Please take another photo of the check.
    • Be sure the check is on a contrasting background surface.
    • Hold the camera as steady as possible.

Note: if you submit multiple checks in a day, you may receive notification that an error occurred. This may mean that there is an error on just one check or multiple checks submitted.

If you have questions, or if you would like to see a demo of mobile deposit, contact your local branch.
